A downloadable game for Windows

In Blend or Fade, you control three units - Red, Green, and Blue - each able to attack enemies of matching colors. Some enemies require a combination of colors to be defeated, forcing you to strategically switch and coordinate your attacks. In a world where Nothing Can Go Wrong, chaos is inevitable.

Calming yet challenging experience! Nice :)

I would have liked a 'quick cast' option so if I press Q it just automatically tells Red to go to the cursor.

Also maybe I'm just bad but I think if hitting with the wrong color just didnt do damage it would be hard enough :'( (the blinking ones get hard lol)

Anyway it was fun! I'll probably try to beat it again sometime, I got a bit further than the first blinking ones

Edit: to answer your post somewhere else, I think it's a bit too hard, I'd give the core maybe a few hits and a checkpoint or something, and let the tryhards try to do a hitless run if they want ^_^

Thank you for a feedback :)

The blinking part is the hardest thing in the game so you are close to winning!

That's actually a genius idea to add a quick cast mechanic, I should have done it. As for difficulty, this game is for the game jam with a theme "Nothing can go wrong", so it should explain why everything is the way it is ;)

Ah okay well I guess its a pretty short game so I'll just git gud :'( no checkpoints is fine then

Cool Graphics and nice gameplay

Thank you!

Игра бомба, изъяны отсутствуют - идеально!
Это тот редкий случай, когда игра не просто развлекает, а оставляет после себя яркие воспоминания и желание вернуться в этот мир снова.

Thank you, Johny!

This was a great game with an interesting concept and nice sound design. I also really liked the music. The game was really fun to play and I would love to see it expanded more to see more color combinations, troops, levels, etc.. Great job!

Hi, thank you!
I also think this mechanic can be scaled in a longer game. Maybe I'll do it some time in the future.

Hey i found the concept very interesting…… at the same time found it a bit difficult to play…. but over all visuals and music were fantastic….

OK, I think you were very close to first place, here’s my review and how you can improve the game:

👉First, the positive points: the sound design is excellent, the sounds you chose match perfectly with what you imagine when the ball hits the rock. The colors are very good, except for the blue, which is very dark. I think this adds to the difficulty of the game, but maybe it would be better to increase the difficulty through speed rather than a color that’s hard to spot. It can be frustrating for the player. As for the UI, like the cursor, the cursor targets, and the line that follows the cursor nothing to say, it’s simple, intuitive, well done, and fits the game’s style. The text animations are good, effective.

👉As for the game system in general, the concept is intuitive, and personally, I think the difficulty is well managed. I didn’t mention the particles, but I think they’re great. They add that "death" effect and are very well made. Also, I feel like there are no particles for the blue ball. The font is also well chosen.  The text animations are subtle but make everything more pleasant (bonus point 👍).

Here’s how you could’ve gone further:

👉A bit more sound design. What you’ve added is excellent, and no one can argue with that, but I think a few more sounds could balance things out. More animations for the enemies. This is something I think should not be overlooked in order to make the game feel smoother. Small animations, like the ones you did with the balls spinning, could be used to make the enemies "bounce" slightly.

👉Another idea, which would take more time (and one week is short), would be an upgrade system for your balls to make them stronger, as well as a score and health system for the main tower, but all of that takes a lot of time.
